about

Our intention in the title use is to creatively share the call of the Suffragettes, a powerful activist movement of women, formed almost 120 years ago. Deeds not words is very relevant today, action not words! The song lyrically personifies Mother Nature as a ravaged and pissed off punk rock female come to reclaim her majesty and restore her body, without us. I know there is a whole lot more on this topic, but this is just the song overview that few people read, so thank you. If ya dig it please share; follow the band on Instagram. Gratitude to New Mexico artist Tauna Cole! Real love your way! -SBL

lyrics

Deeds Not Words

Sit down and let me talk to you
Lay down and let me talk to you -
Goddess come into the room
Like a polychromed cartoon
She’s ravaged and she ragin’
All punk & lookin’ for her moon,
Natures not playing nice no more
Mother wants her body back
So focus on what you have baby
Not on what you lack

Now we’re dancing in the mind-fields
Searching the empty spaces
Guided by the voices
In unfamiliar places,
You’re a diamond in a coal mine,
Gods a homeless house
Walking towards you always –
I wish I wish I could tell you more
Deeds not words
I wish I wish I wish I could tell you more
Love!
I was floating through the universe
In the limbo of light-
Now I’m Lookin’ for a new obsession
To dig me out of this depression
It’s a long way out
From the hours of the hive,
You arrived in a book of carbon
Like a fish out of water

Goddess burst into the room
Like a polychromed cartoon
She’s ravaged and she ragin’
All punk & lookin’ for her moon
Natures not playin’ nice no more
Mother wants her body back
So focus on what you have baby
& not on what you lack.
