about

Ride arrives from under the summer's sweltering heat of the American Southwest in a fresh pair of dancing shoes with a soulful shift to a more optimistic yet bittersweet vibe. It has lyrical roots in the liberating empowerment of acceptance and celebration of "self" sewn into the lines "this is my book, this is my body, this is mine!". The "book" reference is to one another's unique "story" and the genuine guidance and wisdom always available from the inner voice of intuition. Gratitude to talented Charlotte for her soulful lines, as well as Jordan A. (artist) & Ryan Stone (model) for the striking art.

lyrics

Ride

This is my book
This is my book
This is my body,
This is mine
This is mine

Multiplied with no mind or mission
Learned to breath with conditions
Crawled me outta the sea
Layin’ here spent and outta good company,
With all my money on intuition
Stop talkin’ and start a listenin’

Always a bite from the apple
Anarchists parked at the chapel
Learning to live among the philistines
Taking all the corners off my dreams

With my eyes closed
With my eyes closed
All that’s locked in
All that’s locked in,
With my eyes closed
With my eyes closed,
All that’s locked in
Is let out…

This is my book
This is my book
This is my body,
This is mine!

Evil will arrive to you,
It will lie to you,
Comes with orders to defeat you
Then it go all coo coo,
& you hear what you want to hear
As ego self inflates, reason evaporates
That’s all you get I hear you say
Ones and zeros in the way
You’re heaven without a door
& I’m waitin’ on the sidewalks to be poured…

Small bells goin’ off
(on the other side)
In the dark
(on the other side)
Monks beneath the Bodhi Tree
Sending signals in prayers for me
More alone than I’d like to be…

& I breathe & I breathe & I breathe
'bout to come outta my skin
the Now about to begin,
This is my book
This is my book
This is my body,
This is mine!
